Candian geese stay yellow as goslings for only a short period before the yellow completely disappears. This youngster didn't appreciate my being so close and bleated his complaint.

This is probably one of my favorite shots from a demonstration by the Northern Illinois Outlaws on horseback.
This was at a horse show demonstration and there were interesting characters leaning against the fence.
There are times that I'm very tempted to put birds into the 'action' category because they're so fast and difficult to shoot. The white bellied nuthatch definitely fits into the 'action' category.

An amazing place to take pictures at the right time of the evening is this Hindu Temple. The colors of light were always changing.
One of the most surprising and fun events to watch is dock diving dogs. The dogs and their owners work together to launch the dog into the air to get a suspended *something* and then he splashes into the water with the item in his mouth and swims back. I started my dog in this fun sport and hope to continue until eventually I can get shots of my own dog doing this.
These are rare birds to see in urban areas because they make their homes in dead trees. The more common swallows people may see are barn swallows, which have a different coloration; a brighter blue and a rusty red combination.
